TAROT: Stories On Cards

THE MYSTIC ART The practice of tarot reading , though frowned upon by many , still prevails in today's world. In fact , it has gone on to become a major practice in the fields of psychoanalysis and astrology. Supposedly to gain insight into one's past ,present or future , the practice of tarot reading has been taken up by those that are fascinated by the orphic art.

The Major Arcana

The Major Arcana Tarot cards represent karmic influences and the big archetypal themes and are deep and complex – in beautiful ways! Also known as the Trump Cards, the Major Arcana cards include 21 numbered cards and the FOOL. The Fool, unlike popular belief , happens to be one of the strongest cards as it stands for new beginnings as well as the end of something old.Do you know why it is so? It's not because the person who draws it is a fool. It's because he is a clean slate and therefore can become ANYTHING.

Suit Of Wands

The Suit Of Wands stands for primal energy, spirituality, inspiration, and strength. It consists of 14 cards , one for each of the numbers of a house in a deck of cards. The zodiacs Leo , Aries and Saggitarius are associated with the Suit of Wands. The Ace of wands along with the King ,Queen , Knight, Page and the numbers make up one of the strongest suits in the tarot.

THE CUPS

The Suit of Cups Tarot cards deal with the emotional level of consciousness and are associated with love, feelings, relationships and connections. It depicts the nature of water which is symbolic of fluidity , intuition and healing. The suit of Cups corresponds to Hearts in the deck of cards.Just as the heart deals with negative as well as positive sentiments, the set of Cups also depicts having unrealistic expectations and fantasising about what could be. There may be repressed emotions, an inability to truly express oneself and a lack of creativity.

THE SWORDS

Swords mirror the quality of mind present in your thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs. They are often double-edged and in this way, symbolises the fine balance between intellect and power and how these two elements can be used for either good or evil. As such, the Swords must be balanced by the spirit (Wands) and feelings (Cups) to have the mostpositive effect. The Suit of Swords is associated with the element of Air which relates to knowledge, action ,power and change. ‘They stood where they did , with the power of the Sword’. THE SUIT OF PENTACLES

The Pentacles cards deal with the physical or external level of consciousness and thus mirror the outer situations of your health, finances, and work. They have to do with what we make of our outer surroundings , how we create it, shape it, transform it and grow in it. On a more esoteric level, Pentacles are associated with our ego, self-esteem and self-image. They represent the zodiacs , Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo. Imagine all your possibilities , and then let your faith become greater than your fear!
